‘Safeguarding is everybody’s business’ is the message to everyone this week as Medway Council’s Adult Social Care Team launch their Safeguarding week which runs from Monday, 9th October – Friday, 13th October 2017.
The aim of the week is to raise awareness to protect vulnerable adults and to inform people how to identify and report abuse. The public and professionals are invited to attend events taking place throughout the week across Medway. Staff from Medway Council and partner agencies will be on hand to offer advice.
Perfect your respect!
Medway Council is part of the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Adults Board, working together to raise awareness of abuse and minimise the risk of someone becoming a victim.
This event will give people the opportunity to speak with someone and their concerns to be listened too. They will be provided support to help them keep from harm. Medway Council hope the event will raise awareness that there is support available and to give people the confidence to talk and report abuse.
Abuse comes in many different forms which ranges from physical, sexual, neglect, race, financial, emotional the list is endless. Sometimes people are not even consciously aware that they are a victim of abuse.
