The Company:

IPS International is a well-established private training company operating from Rochester in Kent, funded through a large government ESFA contract and also through direct private commercial business. A leading provider of engineering apprenticeships, offering a range of different training programmes which include Electrical, Mechanical & Electronics apprenticeships, as well as practical training in our large engineering workshop.

The Vacancy:

IPS is seeking to appoint a qualified workplace trainer/assessor with experience in assessing electrical engineering in NVQ level 2 and 3. The role specifically requires someone with experience in the Electrical Maintenance industry, Instrumentation and Control are desirable. Applicants without the assessing/training qualifications will still be considered to be developed.

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will enjoy working as part of the Engineering team. IPS International is a Gold Investor in People award holder and embodies the values of personal involvement and development within the business.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Industry experienced and occupationally competent to assess learners to a high level within the engineering industry
  • Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or equivalent in engineering
  • Qualified within English and Maths at Level 2 to support learners in functional skills
  • Ideally qualified as a trainer/teacher, however IPS can provide support to become qualified
  • Ideally qualified as an assessor, however IPS can provide support to become qualified
  • Well-motivated and able to work alone and within a team of engineering trainers
  • Organised and able to plan your time effectively
  • Willing to embrace changes within the industry, working as part of a team and moving forward into new approaches to online training
  • Willing to travel to and from customer’s premises with a blended learning approach
  • A car owner / driver
