The government will pay an employer who hires a new Apprentice between 1 April 2021 until 30 September 2021, £3,000 for ALL ages. You can apply for incentive payments for these Apprentices from 1 June 2021.
These payments are on top of the existing £1,000 that employers get for all new 16-18-year-old Apprentices and those aged under 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan. The payments for employers who hire new Apprentices is for employers in England.
Apprenticeship Service Account
To benefit from the summer peak in interest from school and college leavers, and to meet the eligibility criteria for the incentive payment for hiring a new Apprentice, you need to prepare as soon as possible. You will need to be registered to the Apprenticeship Service Account to hire Apprentices and claim the new incentive. You need to create an Apprenticeship Service Account so you can:
• access and manage Apprenticeship funding
• set up and approve apprentices
• advertise roles on the Find an Apprenticeship Service
• approve training costs
• check payments to Training Providers
• give Training Providers permission to carry out some tasks on your behalf
• give feedback on Apprenticeship training
Non-Levy Employers Reserving funds on the Apprenticeship Service
It is essential that employers reserve funds through the Apprenticeship Service Account before training begins. As the Training Provider we can reserve the funds for you if provided granted permission when you set up your account.
