Training Delivery at IPS

Update 1st March 2021

Most of you are aware that IPS will be re-opening their doors to face to face training to majority of learners from the 8th March 2021.

We still have the same COVID Secure measures in place, as this still applies. A few examples below:

  • Face coverings must be worn when moving around the building
  • Social Distancing
  • Regular cleaning/sanitisation of hands
  • One way or give way areas
  • Designated seating with limitations on room capacity
  • Remaining working from home if possible

Check out our Covid Secure Guide here.

Training that will take place at IPS:

  • IPS Workshop Training will resume on the 8th March
  • HNC will resume on the 10th March
  • BTEC Level 3 will still be mostly virtual

Adult Training:

  • C&G 2382 18th Edition on 8-12 March 2021 will be the first Technical Course to take place
  • Followed by a C&G 23912-52 on 16-19 March

New course dates for other technical courses are in the process of being rescheduled and will be added to our IPS International website shortly.

 Update: 5th January 2021

As a result of the new restrictions announced by the Prime Minister last night, all face to face training in our Training Centres will be suspended for the time being with all learning moving to online and remote. This will be reviewed regularly as the current situation changes and we’ll keep you all informed.

Separate communications will be sent out to all learners, on how we are going to deliver parts of the workshop training with those that are planned in for block release training in January and February.

Adult technical training will also be suspended for the time being, if you have booked a course in January our Technical Team will be in touch.

Update: 4th January 2021

Due to Government Guidelines changing over the Christmas Period and Kent entering Tier 4 we have changed our opening times for Apprentices and learners visiting the IPS Workshop. To find out more about these changes please click here.

At present, all the IPS Technical Training courses are going ahead as planned. However, we are aware of the situation changing daily. So will be keeping you informed through our website and social media platforms.

Update:  1st December 2020

Kent will be entering Tier 3 tomorrow (Wednesday 2nd December), and we want to reassure you that our Training Delivery will be continuing using our current approach throughout December. Remote training will continue as it has throughout November with Engineering Apprentices attending the IPS Workshop to their agreed timetables. We will review the situation after Christmas and provide more information in the New Year.

Due to the recent news on Saturday that there will be a national lockdown from Thursday 5th November 2020, IPS will still deliver training observing the Covid Secure requirements. (click here to see the COVID Secure conditions we have made.) We will still provide a blend of remote and face-to-face training and commercial training courses booked at our Training centres in Rochester and Dover,  will still take place safely and secure. This will continue based on Government guidance.

Regarding our Engineering Apprentices in the IPS Workshop, Year 2 and HNC learners will go-to online learning only for the four weeks of lockdown. Year 1 Engineering Apprentices will continue to attend IPS to carry out the practical workshop training and blended learning on the technical certificate.
