Our engineering department can offer training to your apprentice in a range of specialisms. We deliver the majority of our training at our centre in Rochester, which offers our learners excellent facilities and the ability to learn from industry experienced trainers. We have a track record of providing engineering apprenticeships in a range of specialisms; including:

 

Engineering Technician (Level 3 Standard)

Engineering technicians in the wider advanced manufacturing and Engineering Sector take responsibility of quality and accuracy within the limits of their personal authority. Demonstrate a core set of behaviours in order to be competent in their job role and Complement wider business strategy and development.

We offer training for the following roles:

  • Mechatronics
  • Technical Support
Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician (Level 3 Standard)

The apprentice will maintain the safety, integrity and effective operation of plant and equipment in an organisation. The apprentice technicians will undertake installation, testing, servicing, removal, replacement, maintenance and repair of a range of equipment.

We offer training for the following roles:

  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Control and Instrumentation
  • Electrical System and process control
  •  Electromechanical
  • Plant operations
Engineering Maintenance (Framework)


Intermediate (Level 2)

The Intermediate level apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance can cover different disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic where the apprentice will be involved in maintenance fitting.

Advanced (Level 3)

The advanced level apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance can cover more of a variety of disciplines as well as formal training of fundamental skills that are relevant to their role within the organisation. A combination of technical and practical training will help them build a competency to work safely and effectively in the specific roles such as a Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Plant and Systems/Fluid Power Maintenance Technicians.

Rail Engineering


Intermediate (Level 2 Framework)

The Intermediate level apprenticeship in Rail can cover Rail services such as shunting. Rail infrastructure such as, track maintenance or electrification where the apprentice will learn the necessary skills.

Standard (Level 3)
The Rail Engineering Technician Standard provides technical support to Rail Engineers working on different areas of the railway, which includes infrastructure and trains, track overhead lines, electrification, signalling, telecommunications, traction and rolling stock and rail systems. Apprentices will learn the core knowledge involved but specialise a specific discipline.

Fabrication and welding (Framework)


Intermediate (Level 2
)
The Intermediate level apprenticeship in Fabrication and Welding can range from what type of welding the apprentice is undertaking in the workplace, and will suit if the apprentice is aiming to become a fitter welder, pipe fitter, semi-skilled sheet metal worker, maintenance welding operative.

Advanced (Level 3)
The advanced level apprenticeship in Fabrication and Welding includes formal training of the fundamental skills that are relevant to their role within the organisation. A combination of technical and practical training will help them build a competency to work safely and effectively as a sheet metal worker, plater/fabricator or welder.

Engineering Manufacture (Framework)


Intermediate (Level 2)
The Intermediate level apprenticeship in Manufacture can cover different disciplines such as Mechanical Manufacturing (ideal for an apprentice training to become a semi-skilled machine setter, jig and tool fitter, CNC operator), Technical Support (ideal for an apprentice training in and engineering drawing environment, Inspection and Testing or Technical Services). With additional apprenticeships in Performing Manufacturing Operations and Improving Operational Performance.

Advanced (Level 3)
The advanced level apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture includes formal training of fundamental skills that are relevant to their role within the organisation. A combination of technical and practical training will help them build a competency to work safely and effectively as a Toolmaker, Mechanical Manufacturer, Installation and Commissioning or Technical Support Technician.

Marine Engineering


Intermediate (Level 2)

The Intermediate level apprenticeship in Marine can cover different disciplines such as a semi-skilled Marine Electrical/Mechanical/Engine Fitter or a semi-skilled Marine Installation Engineer where the apprentice will learn the basic knowledge in engineering.

Advanced (Level 3)
The advanced level apprenticeship in Marine Engineering includes formal training of fundamental skills that are relevant to their role within the organisation. A combination of Technical and Practical training will help them build a competency to work safely and effectively as a Marine engineer, Marine electrician on either Ships or Boats and Yachts.
