If you have been offered an Apprenticeship with one of our employers, we would like to wish you congratulations and good luck! Are you excited for the new term but wondering what you need to do? Here is all the information you need for your enrolment and induction.

We will send joining instructions to you and your new employer; this will have all the information you will need to join our training programme and your enrolment date.

Enrolment is taking place from the Tuesday 8th September – Tuesday 15th September 2020 (excluding Monday 14th September 2020). Please check with your employer what day you are booked onto.

If you have not got your joining instructions by the 4th September 2020 then please check with your employer and call us on 01634 298807 and speak to Laura or Harry, the Engineering Administration Team.

 

Engineering Induction Dates – Apprenticeship Training


1st Year: Level 3 – Workshop Induction

  • 18th September 2020 (This will only apply to those who are starting their Block 1 on the 21st September 2020.)

Level 3 Apprentices will need to be at the IPS Training centre at Northbank House on the above date. Further instruction will be sent to you regarding timings, as groups will need to be split to reduce numbers in and out of IPS. Remember to sanitise hands on arrival and you will then wait in a designated area to ensure you are socially distanced.

 

1st Year: Level 3 – Technical Knowledge Induction

  • 22nd September 2020

Level 3 Apprentices will need to be at the IPS Training centre at Northbank House on the above date, further instruction will be sent to you regarding timings as groups will need to be split to reduce numbers in and out of IPS. Remember to sanitise hands on arrive and then you will then wait in a designated area for further instruction socially distanced.

 

Induction: What should I wear and bring?


Wear:

As you can see in the picture above of last year’s inductions, you can be in casual clothing but please dress suitably for an engineering environment.

If you are on Workshop Inductions (Level 3’s), please also bring PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) with you. This includes safety boots and overalls/workwear. This will be required when you start training w/c 21st September.

• Pen, Notebook & Folder

 

2nd Year: Level 3 – Technical Knowledge

For second year Apprentices coming back for their second year BTEC on day release, the first day is:

  • 7th September 2020 – further instructions will be sent to you directly.

Face coverings


From Monday 14th September 2020 it will be mandatory to wear a face covering, either a mask or a face shield, when moving around inside our Training Centres for all staff and learners.
